“Wah Cantonment Board’s Additional CEO, Ghulam Sabir Basra, held a press conference addressing concern raised about trade unions regarding the seal of shops by the Wah Cantonment Board. He emphasized that no organization claiming to represent the Trade Union Act of 1946 fulfills its demands, nor are their elections conducted under its provisions. Basra stated that all trade unions are self-formed, interfering in government affairs, and will face legal consequences. He assured the government’s commitment to taking action as per Pakistan’s directives.
Basra highlighted that unauthorized commercial activities, including illegal commercial properties, will face strict measures, and there will be no tolerance for unlawful protests. Property owners since 2018 are being warned, with direct engagement for compliance. Moreover, businesses operating on rent in illegal commercial properties are urged to cooperate for legal proceedings.
To ensure service provision certainty, tax evaders will be pursued, and tax collection from negligent taxpayers will be enforced. Basra urged financial support through regular tax payments, stating it as essential for service provision. He addressed concerns and pledged support for genuine service delivery but emphasized the necessity of financial self-sufficiency.

Basra condemned attempts to portray poverty for commercial benefits, urging residents to abide by commercial tax regulations. He stated that despite multiple notifications, no substantial response from property owners has been received.
