On the sidelines of the United Nations Troop Contributing Countries Conference 2025 (#UNTCC2025), General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of India, held a high-level meeting with Lieutenant General Marek Arkadiusz Sokolowski, General Commander of the Polish Armed Forces.
The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral defence cooperation, enhancing interoperability between the two armies, and exploring opportunities for collaboration in peacekeeping, training, and defence technology.
Officials described the meeting as “cordial and forward-looking,” emphasizing shared commitments to global peacekeeping and regional stability. Both sides also exchanged views on emerging global security challenges and the role of modernized armed forces in maintaining international order.
The interaction comes at a time when India and Poland are steadily expanding their defence and industrial linkages, including joint initiatives in defence production, tactical training, and military innovation.
Observers note that the meeting underscores India’s growing diplomatic and strategic engagement within the European defence landscape, positioning the Indian Army as a key partner in global security dialogues.
