ISLAMABAD/HARIPUR: Police have arrested five suspects in connection with a case involving the alleged sexual abuse of a child and the recording of a video that was reportedly used to blackmail the victim.
The case was registered at Pinyan Police Station, following allegations that the child was sexually abused and that a video of the incident was recorded.
Haripur Police said all five nominated suspects have been taken into custody and will be produced before the court for further legal proceedings. Police have also launched a detailed investigation and said modern technology and forensic methods will be used to examine the available evidence.
The victim’s family, however, has expressed concern that the alleged video recovered from the suspects’ mobile phones could be deleted or destroyed, potentially weakening the case. The family has urged authorities to ensure that all digital evidence is preserved and properly examined.
Police officials have assured the family that no leniency will be shown to anyone involved in the case. They said the FIR was registered after examining the available evidence and that all nominated suspects have been arrested.
Police further stated that the investigation would proceed strictly on merit and that any additional evidence uncovered during the investigation would be incorporated into the case in accordance with the law.
