“Controversial Propaganda Film ‘The Kashmir Files’ Snubbed at Filmfare Awards Ceremony”

The Indian propaganda movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ did not receive any awards during the Filmfare Awards, which is one of Bollywood’s top awards. Despite being nominated in multiple categories, including Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male), the film did not win any out of its seven nominations.

Actor Anupam Kher, who starred in ‘The Kashmir Files’ and was nominated for Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male), posted a cryptic tweet about ‘respect’ hours after the awards ceremony.

The film competed in multiple categories, including Best Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Director, but lost to other movies. Director Vivek Agnihotri, who wrote a long note calling Filmfare “unethical and anti-cinema awards,” created ‘The Kashmir Files’ as an attempt to create communal discord in India and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by distorting the presentation of the exodus of Hindu Pandits from the Kashmir Valley in the 1990s.
