Why Sindh govt is not allowed to appoint IGP of its choice, asks Zardari

PPP-Parliamentarians President Asif Ali Zardari, while giving an interview to a private news channel, questioned that why can’t the Sindh government appoint an Inspector General of Police (IGP) of its choice.

Commenting on the propagated notion that the incumbent Sindh IG was a “good officer”, Zardari remarked: “If A.D. Khawaja is a good officer, then what are others?”

Last week, the Sindh High Court extended its stay on the removal of IGP A.D. Khawaja from his post and ordered the IGP to continue his duties till the court reaches a decision in the matter,

Taking a jibe at the prime minister, he said that Nawaz Sharif was now wearied and he [Zardari] will make sure that PPP exhausts him.

During the next PPP rally, ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogans will be raised, he said.

The former president also spoke about the issue of his missing aides, “It doesn’t matter to me, no matter how many of my aides are arrested.”

Not the police but someone else is involved in the disappearance of my aides, he remarked.

He also claimed that the people who want to join him are being threatened.
