The escalating conflict between Iran and Israel has pushed the Middle East into a dangerous and unpredictable phase, raising serious concerns about regional stability, sovereignty and global energy supply and security
The tension started on 28 February, 2026, when the United States and Israel carried out massive joint airstrikes on Iran. In this targeted attack, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was assassinated along with several top political and military leadership, including senior IRGC commanders and the defense minister, As of Now over more than fourteen hundred people have been killed, with more than 18,000 injured, following US-Israeli attacks. According to the Iranian Health Ministry, The vast majority of these casualties are civilians, including hundreds of women and children, with over 9,600 civilian sites struck.
Indian Senior Journalist Braj Mohan Singh, who recently returned from Israel after reporting from areas affected by the strikes. He speaks to NNP News on the ongoing West Asia war. He discusses press freedom, media restrictions, and censorship during Iranian missile attacks on Israel, including restrictions on filming casualties and damage, limited access to hospitals, and the difficulty of verifying the true scale of war destruction.
