New Delhi: Operation Sindoor will be the centerpiece of India’s military display at the Republic Day Parade 2026 on Kartavya Path. The Ministry of Defence announced that the Tri-services tableau will showcase joint operations and advanced weaponry, including Rafale fighter jets, BrahMos missiles, and the S-400 air defence system.
European Council President Antonio Luis Santos da Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will be the chief guests at the 77th Republic Day celebrations, underscoring India’s growing strategic engagement with the European Union.
Operation Sindoor will take centre stage
Parade Commander Lt Gen Bhavnish Kumar said “Operation Sindoor would be a defining feature of this year’s parade. He described the operation as a decisive military success executed within 87 hours, reflecting India’s capability to conduct swift, integrated and precise military action.
Lt Gen Kumar stated that the parade would showcase Operation Sindoor’s success through demonstrations of joint operations and integrated execution. He added that Integrated Defence Staff tableaux would depict the operation’s 87-hour timeline, and the Army’s display would feature an integrated operations center.
On Indian Army Day, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the Army on the success of Operation Sindoor, stating that the operation would continue until terrorism is completely eradicated, ensuring lasting peace.
Display of Multi-domain warfare and modern weaponry

Lt Gen Kumar said the parade would go beyond conventional military displays and highlight India’s transition to multi-domain warfare. “Modern operations now cover land, air, maritime, cyber, space, electromagnetic spectrum and information operations,” he said, noting that new technologies have been fully integrated across all three services.
During the battle array formation, the parade will demonstrate how offensive operations are supported by combat support elements. The Army will showcase platforms such as the T-90 tank, MBT Arjun, BMP-2 infantry combat vehicle and the Nag missile system, all configured for modern battlefield requirements. Aerial assets will also demonstrate air power over Kartavya Path.
Tri-services tableau will highlight Operation Sindoor
In a press release issued by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the Defence Ministry confirmed that the Indian Armed Forces will present a Tri-services tableau titled “Operation Sindoor: Victory Through Jointness” during the parade.
According to the PIB, the tableau will present a sequential and integrated narrative of joint military operations, reflecting India’s evolved military doctrine based on precision, integration and indigenous capability.

The tri-services tableau will present a step-by-step depiction of how Operation Sindoor unfolded through coordinated action by the Indian Navy, Army and Air Force. It will open with the Indian Navy demonstrating maritime dominance, symbolising control of sea routes and denial of operational space to adversaries. This will be followed by the Indian Army’s M777 ultra-light howitzers, shown delivering precise and calibrated firepower as part of ground-based offensive operations. The Akash air defence system will also be displayed, highlighting India’s layered air defence capability designed to protect critical assets from aerial threats.
The strike phase of the tableau will illustrate modern precision warfare. A HAROP loitering munition will be shown neutralising enemy air defence radar, clearing the way for air strikes. This will be followed by a Rafale fighter aircraft armed with SCALP missiles executing a surgical strike on terror infrastructure. The sequence will then show a SU-30 MKI launching the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, demonstrating India’s ability to carry out deep and high-speed precision strikes against hardened targets.
The presentation will culminate with the S-400 air defence system carrying out a long-range engagement of up to 350 kilometres, showcasing the reach and integration of India’s air defence network. According to the Defence Ministry, the tableau reflects India’s evolved military doctrine based on jointness, precision and rapid response, and sends a clear message that acts of terrorism and those who support them will be met with swift and decisive action.
Showcase of Tableaux from states and ministries
The Republic Day Parade will also showcase India’s cultural diversity and development journey through a total of 30 tableaux, comprising 17 from States and Union Territories and 13 from Ministries, Departments and Services, according to a Press Information Bureau (PIB) release. These tableaux have been curated to reflect both the country’s historical legacy and its contemporary aspirations.
The overarching themes for this year’s tableaux are ‘Swatantrata ka Mantra: Vande Mataram’ and ‘Samriddhi ka Mantra: Aatmanirbhar Bharat’, commemorating 150 years of the national song Vande Mataram while highlighting India’s steady progress towards self-reliance across sectors.
Several state tableaux will highlight regional heritage and cultural identity. Assam will present the Asharikandi terracotta craft village, Jammu and Kashmir will showcase its handicrafts and folk dances, Punjab will commemorate the 350th year of martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur, while Odisha’s tableau titled “Soil to Silicon” will depict the state’s journey from traditional livelihoods to technological innovation.
Tableaux from central ministries and departments will showcase national priorities: defence, internal security, disaster resilience, education reforms, cultural heritage, skill development, and clean energy, highlighting India’s socio-economic and strategic transformation.
A strong strategic message
Officials said the Republic Day Parade 2026 is designed to project India’s strategic resolve, military readiness and growing self-reliance in defence, while continuing to celebrate the country’s cultural diversity and democratic values.
The parade will be held on January 26, 2026, at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. Final rehearsals and security arrangements are underway across the national capital ahead of the celebrations.
