Taxila (Staff Reporter) A 12-member Korean delegation paid a detailed visit to Taxila today, where they received a warm welcome at various locations.
The delegation began their tour from a local hotel and first arrived at Zaildar House, where a high tea was hosted in their honor by Syed Zaheer-ul-Hassan Zaildar. On the occasion, Coordinator Malik Waseem and Prince Syed Imran Haider Naqvi also accompanied the guests.
Later, the delegation visited the GHANDARA Art Village, where Syed Zaheer-ul-Hassan Shah Zaildar delivered a detailed briefing on the historical importance of Taxila. The delegates praised the establishment of the Art Village, terming it a commendable effort to highlight the legacy of Buddha, and expressed their deep appreciation for the initiative.
The delegation then visited Dharmarajika, Mohra Moradu, and Jaulian, key Buddhist heritage sites. Some members of the Korean delegation also performed their religious rituals during the visit. The Taxila administration made excellent arrangements for the tour. Under the special directions of the Assistant Commissioner of Taxila,MARIA JAVED,supervised the arrangements, while the Rawalpindi Police provided foolproof security. Cleanliness of routes and provision of basic facilities were also ensured, which the delegation found satisfactory.
The head of the delegation, Mr. Kim, along with Mr. Yoo, expressed their delight, stating that they were impressed with the way Buddha’s history has been preserved. They added that every element of the Buddhist legacy has been safeguarded in an admirable manner.
Concluding the visit, the delegation proceeded to the Taxila Museum, where Museum Director Asim Dogar welcomed them and briefed them about the rich historical heritage of Taxila.
