Islamabad Hosts Seminar to Strengthen Pakistan-Asia Pacific Ties
Islamabad, May 29, 2025 — The Consortium for Asia Pacific Studies (CAPS) held a hybrid seminar. The seminar was titled “Bridging Pakistan and the Asia-Pacific”. Its objective was to enhance connections between Pakistan and Asia-Pacific countries. Experts highlighted the growing role of citizen diplomacy and the need for localized narratives that reflect Global South perspectives.
Dr. Khuram Iqbal, CAPS President, emphasized people-to-people engagement, while education professionals discussed scholarships and student counseling. Dr. Mehmood Hussain challenged Western views on China, advocating for collaboration based on shared values.
The seminar featured alumni and students from the region. They shared cross-cultural experiences. There were calls for stronger partnerships. Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) were also suggested. These measures aim to boost Pakistan’s presence in this economically and geopolitically vital region.
