In Beijing, the vice chairman of the Central Military Commission stated that China is eager to collaborate with the military of Pakistan to deepen and broaden their cooperation and jointly ensure regional peace and stability. According to Reuters, Zhang Youxia made this statement during his meeting with Chief of Army Staff Gen Asim Munir.
The army chief’s official visit started with a warm welcome and the presentation of the guard of honor at the headquarters of the People’s Liberation Army. During the visit, Gen Munir and the Chinese army commander talked about matters related to their mutual security interests and further military cooperation. They emphasized their commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region and enhancing their military-to-military cooperation.
The Inter-Services Public Relations reported that Gen Munir witnessed a representation of the operational abilities of the PLA Army troops and praised the professionalism and high standards of training displayed by the soldiers. The statement said that the COAS is expected to hold more meetings with Chinese military leaders to enhance the long-standing relations between the two military forces.
