27th FEB 2019 OPERATION SWIFT RETORT

Four years after the downing of two Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft and capture of one pilot, the IAF is yet to recover from the humiliation at the hands of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) which exposed to the world the inherent military weakness of a “nuclear-armed” India. The botched attempt to strike deep inside Pakistan following a false flag operation at Pulwama on 14 Feb 2019, established the military and technological superiority of the PAF and shattered to pieces the myth of Indian military might. On 27th Feb 2019, during the short aerial encounter, PAF shot down two IAF aircraft and captured one of the pilots.

The debris of the SU-30 fell in IIOK and its pilot was killed, while the MiG-21 pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, whose aircraft fell on the Pakistan side was captured alive. The success of the PAF in Operation Swift Retort against a far bigger adversary is now observed as a “Surprise Day” every year. India’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar confirmed that the missing of one Pilot.

“In this engagement, we have unfortunately lost one Mig-21. Pakistan has claimed that the Pilot was in their custody Pakistan’s DG- ISPR Asif Ghafoor said that Pakistani aircraft had fired on six targets in IIOJK, hitting “open spaces” as a demonstration of Pakistan’s capability to hit Indian targets. The intention was not to cause any civilian or military casualties. Pakistan’s Foreign Office stated that “the sole purpose was to demonstrate our right, will and capability for self-defence. We have no intention of escalation but are fully prepared to do so if forced into the war paradigm.” Furthermore, Indian forces were baffled so badly by the Pakistani response that they had targeted their own Mi-17 Chopper at Budgam. Indian Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria admitted shooting down of own Mi-17 V5 helicopter by the IAF on 27 February was a “big mistake”.

To cover up this ignominy, IAF claimed that they had downed the F-16 jet of Pakistan during the aerial combat on 27th February. As usual, the claim turned out to be incorrect and was rebutted by US authorities on the ground in Pakistan as the count of F-16 proved that no plane was missing and India tried to mislead the international community. Later on, Pakistan handed over Wing Commander Abhinandan to India in a peace-mongering gesture in an attempt to de-escalate the tensions between both the countries. The entire Balakot episode turned out to be nightmarish for India as it was widely exposed vulnerabilities in Indian defense and raised serious questions over the war capabilities of Indian ground and aerial forces.

“Wealth of the Few: 166 Billionaires in India Now Own More than 60% of the Country’s Wealth Despite Growing Hunger, Inflation and Health Crises”.

A recent Oxfam India report titled “Survival of the Richest: The India Narrative” revealed that just 5% of Indians own more than 60% of the country’s wealth, while the bottom 50% have only 3%. In 2022, the country’s wealthiest man enjoyed a 46% gain in wealth. India’s top 10 richest individuals have a collective net worth of $335.7billion, a 32.8% rise from 2021. There are currently 166 billionaires in India, up from 102 in 2020.

Despite this startling wealth disparity, the nation is battling numerous challenges including hunger, increasing suicide rates, unemployment, inflation, worsening law and order situation and health crises.

The report also highlighted that by 2022, India has around 350 million hungry people, a growth from 190 million in 2018. This led to 65% of death among children under 5 being attributed to hunger, significantly higher than other countries.

Amidst all this, the wealth of billionaires swells daily by an average of $2.7billion despite the stagnated wages of 1.7 billion workers due to inflation.

Another bomb blast at Gurdwara in Kabul exposes RAW’s anti-Sikh agenda

Kabul, July 27 (KMS): Reports emanating from Afghanistan say that terrorists have carried out a bomb blast on a Gurdwara, the Sikh religious place, in Kabul.

The blast was reportedly took place at the main gate of Gurudwara Karte Parwan, Kabul, Afghanistan.

The blast comes a month after the so-called Islamic State of Kharasn Province, which has deep-rooted looks with RAW, attacked Karte Parwan Gurwara. It claimed lives of dozens of Sikhs and Taliban members.

The Gurudwara was attacked, earlier this year, killing two Afghans including one Sikh.

The repeated targeting of tiny Sikh minority by terrorists in Afghanistan has forced analysts to find a link between the rising attacks on Gurdwaras in Afghanistan and elsewhere in the world and the recently-held Referendum for Khalistan in some European countries.

The analysts believe that the overwhelming participation of Sikh community in the referendum for a separate homeland, based on some states presently under control of India, has unnerved the Modi regime.

India says Tesla should not import cars from China for domestic sale

United States electric vehicle maker Tesla Inc is welcome to set up shop in India, make cars there for sale and export them, but must not import cars from China, India’s transport minister said on Tuesday.

“Making in China and selling here is not a good proposition,” the minister, Nitin Gadkari, said during a government conference.

Tesla is desperate to import and sell its electric vehicles in India, having lobbied officials in New Delhi for nearly a year to cut tariffs, which the company’s billionaire chief executive Elon Musk says are among the highest in the world.

But its efforts are at a stalemate as Tesla has not revealed a firm plan to invest in India, a step that would be in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Make in India” vision to boost local manufacturing and create jobs.

Last year, Tesla moved a step closer to its launch in India by registering a company in the country.

Tesla Motors India and Energy Private Limited was incorporated on January 8, 2021 with its registered office in the southern city of Bengaluru, a hub for several global technology companies.

The regulatory filing showed the Indian unit had three directors.
