Regional Police Officer, Capt. (R) Ehsan Tufail inspects the route of procession at Chour Chowk, SSP Operations Tariq Walait gave briefing on the security arrangements made for the procession. SSP Operations told that according to the security plan issued by CPO Faisal Rana, extraordinary measures have been taken and security personnel are deployed at the sensitive points on route.
The Regional Police Officer was told that, the sensitive points on the route of procession have been identified and timings of arrival, stay and departure from these points have been determined. The procession can neither arrive at a sensitive point in advance nor can stay there for more than the specified time. The RPO was told that the route of the procession will be provided a three tier security cover. The markets and shops on the route will remain closed while watching the procession, standing on the rooftop of houses or from the windows will not be allowed. The CPO has issued strict directions that the security personnel will report at their duty point two hours prior to the start of the procession and the security will remain deployed after the end of the procession till the orders of stand down are issued by the competent authority. The Regional Police Officer, Muhammad Ehsan Tufail while expressing his satisfaction over the security arrangements said that, no untoward incident occurred during Muharram ul Haraam, Chehlum and on other events due to the security duties which Rawalpindi police performed under the command of City Police Officer, Muhammad Faisal Rana.
