Rawalpindi police arrested ringleader of “Fidi Dacoit Gang” who used to snatch the cash drawn from the banks, the father and the elder brother of the accused also remained involved in robberies, the accused hails from Kati Pahari, Karachi, police also recovered the car purchased with the cash snatched from a senior citizen. According to the details, SP Potohar Syed Ali told the City Police Officer, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Faisal Rana in a briefing that, Wah Cantt police arrested an accused of robbery who was a gangster and had established a gang, named as “Fidi Dacoit Gang”. The accused snatched away 05 lac rupees from a senior citizen on his way back after drawing the amount from the bank. The SP told that Fida alias Fidi, the ringleader of “Fidi Dacoit Gang” disclosed after the arrest that he hails from Kati Pahari, Karachi and his father and the elder brother are also involved in robberies. Muhammad Afzal, the senior citizen identified Fida alias Fidi during the legal process of identification parade. The SP told that police has recovered the car which Fida alias Fidi had purchased with the cash snatched from the senior citizen Muhammad Afzal. The CPO while commending SP Potohar over the arrest of ringleader of notorious dacoit gang said that, street crime will decrease with the arrest of gang that robbed overseas Pakistanis and the arrest of ringleader of “Fidi Dacoit Gang”. The CPO said that, Potohar Division has a prominent role in the performance of Rawalpindi police, the spirit and professionalism with which SP Potohar Syed Ali and his team is working is resulting in the arrest of dacoit gangs. The CPO directed that the other members of the gang and the facilitators must also be taken into the firm grip of law.
