All possible assistance to the defence ministry to enhance the defence sector of Pakistan.

** Ijaz Hashmi *** Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said that the government will provide all possible assistance to the defence ministry to enhance the defence sector of Pakistan.

He said this while chairing a meeting to review performance of the defence ministry at the Prime Minister Office in Islamabad. The prime minister said that the government was also supporting investment in commercial and social welfare sectors along with defence sector.

The ministry of defence also briefed the PM during the meeting. Minister for Defence Production Zubida Jalal, Prime Minister Special Assistance Iftikhar Durani, Defence Secretary Leftiuent General (retd) Muhammad Ijaz Chaudhry and other senior officials attended the meeting.

Prime Minister praised the performance of defence ministry and its affiliated departments. PM Khan also stressed involvement of private sector in the defence circle so that the state can attain complete benefit from defence sector’s capabilities.

He said the government will provide all possible support to the defence ministry to ensures defence of the country. He also said the government will also assist the ministry in the establishment of Gwadar Shipyard.
