ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain says Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government would introduce a new local bodies system in the country within three months, state media reported on Tuesday.

In an interview, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan will present a draft of new local bodies system on Sunday aimed at changing district and tehsil level system to facilitate the people.

The minister said negotiations with opposition regarding new local bodies bill are underway and the government would try to convince PPP and PML-N to support that bill.

He said local bodies representatives would utilize development funds on the welfare of people of their areas to provide them relief.
