Usma murder case resolved.

TAXILA: Police here on Thursday claimed to have resolved the blind murder case of PML-N councilor’s 18-year-old son, who was shot dead during a botched up robbery in March this year.

Addressing a press conference at the Taxila police station, City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Abbassi said a police team headed by Subdivisional Police Officer Sajid Gondal busted a three-member gang of robbers who confessed to killing Osama Butt, son of ruling party councillor Shafaqat Butt, on March 5.

The CPO said the gang, comprising Mohammad Shahzad, Sadaqat Khan and Adil Zeb of Haripur, had also confessed to carrying out eight robberies in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Taxila and Haripur.

Over Rs0.7 million cash reward was announced for the investigation team by MPA Haji Umer Farooq, local PML-N leader Haji Dildar Khan and office-bearers of the traders union.
