KP govt criticised for not utilising uplift funds

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has criticised the provincial government for its failure to utilise Rs119 billion development funds.Addressing a public meeting in Urmar area on the outskirts of Peshawar on Sunday, PML-N provincial secretary information Nasir Khan Musazai said that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak failed to initiate development schemes in the province.

54f40c643ce0b“The government is claiming to attract foreign investment through Dubai road show but it has no capacity even to utilise its own funds meant for the development of the province. As a result Rs119 billion were lapsed last year,” the PML-N leader said.

The statements about foreign investment were meant to befool the people, he said, adding that people knew well and could not be dodged through such tactics.

Mr Musazai said that people were fed up with the tall claims of the provincial government about bringing a change. Everyone knew that the ruling clique was unable to do anything for the welfare of the people, he added.

He said that people of the province had voted for Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and its allies with the hope that the party would materialise its commitments and bring a positive change, but to no avail. He urged the coalition partners of PTI in the provincial government to fulfil their commitments and remove unrest among the people of the province otherwise they would be unable to get votes in any elections in future.

The PML-N leader claimed that Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and his cabinet members were busy round the clock to improve life standard of people across the country by initiating development schemes.

The federal government, he said, had specially focused on investment in the field of power generation to overcome the power shortage, meet the requirements to revive industries and generate employment opportunities in the country.

Mr Musazai claimed that with completion of the ongoing development schemes initiated by the federal government, people would feel a real change.

He added that special attention was being paid to the sector of power generation.
